陈木胜是香港动作商业片的代表导演之一，曾执导过《特警新人类》、《新警察故事》、《三岔口》、《宝贝计划》《扫毒》、《保持通话》等多部作品，他的最后一部作品《怒火》(谢霆锋、甄子丹主演)已于去年拍摄完成，但由于当时已查出鼻咽癌末期，后期工作只能交给工作人员跟进。这部遗作目前确认会在今年年内上映。
