当地时间5月3日，在法国和比利时交界处，一名比利时农民开拖拉机的时候，误把界碑当成障碍物，结果把界碑撞入法国。这也导致法国领土“缩水”了约1000平方米。比利时方面称，计划联系这位农民，尽快恢复界碑的位置。这位农民如果不把界碑放回原位，最终可能需要法国-比利时边境委员会处理。法国和比利时边境上的界碑是1815年拿破仑在滑铁卢惨败后，法国和荷兰之间于1820年签署的《科特赖克条约》的结果。
