Evidence including traces of the virus found in sewage samples in Spain, Italy, and Brazil, have shown that the coronavirus existed across the globe way ahead of the first case detected in China. "I think the virus was already here, here meaning everywhere. We may be seeing a dormant virus that has been activated by environmental conditions," said Dr. Jefferson.
